Violence of any kind Is Not Ok!

We can restore a sense of pride and hope to our community.

The mission of MJE is to end neighborhood violence by empowering mothers and youth to challenge the normalization of violence and become effective catalysts for change in their homes, schools, and communities. By reclaiming the identity of our communities we restore a sense of hope and purpose for children, youth, and adults.

You Matter

You Matter is one of the first educational programs implemented as part of MJE's efforts to stop neighborhood violence and help mothers and women alike. The program officially launched in 2013 with a vision to support women of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds suffering from trauma.

Workforce Readiness Initiative

MJE’s Workforce Readiness Initiative is a trauma informed program to help women from all social and economic backgrounds. Along with our curriculum based training, our members develop workforce-readiness skills. In 2015, MJE won a grant from the Boston Public Health Commission to launch its Workforce Readiness Initiative which has continued as an annual source of support for this work.

Violence Intervention Program

Through this work, MJE assists victims to understand the dynamics of victimization, helps stabilize their lives in the aftermath of violence, and serves as a liaison to law enforcement, the courts, Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA), housing, and other service providers.

About violence in your community today!

MJE was founded in the fall of 2010 with the vision of a world in which it is never normal or acceptable for children to be murdered.
