“I started out as a client here at MJE. I lost my son to violence on New Year’s Eve 2008, and by 2011 I came to MJE to find a healing space and be around people who understood my trauma. I wasn’t getting the care or resources after my son’s death until I walked into MJE after losing my job for not being social enough, I decided to join the non-profit and start my journey of healing by helping mothers and families with resources and healing workshops to help get them through a traumatic time.”
