“For children and families who have experienced prior trauma, the pandemic causes additional stress, trauma, loss, and adversity, and compounds the impact of certain traumatic experiences. The pandemic highlights and exacerbates systemic inequalities and disparities regarding access to physical and mental health care, and reduces access to necessary supports, including resources to meet basic needs.”
